Massage Therapy Background

I originally completed my massage training in 1996 and have continued to study in areas that teach methods for treating the muscles, structure, and fascia.  As important as these areas are, understanding posture and movement are also essential in working with the body to help it heal.  I admire the philosophies of pioneers such as Ida Rolf and Mosh Feldenkrais and take workshops in their work whenever possible.

My study in Body-Mind Psychotherapy is continual and is an ongoing process of  relating to and experiencing physical sensations  through awareness which enables me to resonate and respond most fully.  I use this to stay in tune with myself to be more present for you.    Susan Aposhyan is world renown and I admire her immensely.

My ongoing meditation practice which began close to thirty years ago, along with her training with Jon Kabit Zinn (mindful based stress reduction meditation—used internationally in the medical community, and author of numerous books) helps me to stay present so that I can better feel/hear what my clients need.  I facilitate a meditation class twice a week free of charge as well.
